Brian Trapp Brian's first balloon flight was in 1980 in his (then) 69-year-old grandmother's hot air balloon. He fell in love with flying and has since piloted over 3,000 flights in USA, Canada, Scotland, England and now Fiji. Not only has he acquired over 30 years ballooning experience, Brian is a certified flight instructor as well as being an FAA certified examiner and a Maintenance Authority back in his home state in Ohio, USA. Brian's experience extends to operating his own award-winning Ballooning company and certified Hot Air Balloon Repair Station. His business has been operating since 1986 with a perfect safety record. Brian's wife is also a certified balloon captain in her own right, with 26 years LTA (lighter than air) flying experience. |

Steven Bond Steve started piloting hot air balloons in 1986 in a mountainous region of the US and gained his commercial US balloon license in 1988. Since then, he has also earned a commercial ballooning license in Kenya and Fiji, as well as maintenance authority in those three countries. Steve has piloted balloons in 36 of the 50 US states, and in several other countries including Canada, France, Portugal, and Kenya. Steve has had the good fortune to share the thrill of ballooning with thousands of people and still maintains a perfect safety record. His balloon flying experience ranges from small lightweight personal balloons to giant passenger balloons that are among the largest in the world. He is happily married to his best friend Joy, who is also a commercial balloon pilot in the US. Steve says that the balloon flight here is Fiji is among the most unique available anywhere and if you only ever take one balloon ride, it should be here! |

Q: Where does the Adrenalin Hot Air Balloon fly?
A: In the Fijian highlands in the Nadi area
Q: Does Adrenalin provide transport for the Hot Air Balloon ride?
A: Adrenalin will pick you up from all Denarau Resorts and from some Nadi Hotels. Guests staying at other locations are encouraged to make their way to an agreed pick up point in Nadi or Denarau.
Q: What time is the balloon flight?
A: No matter where you are in the world, the best wind and environmental conditions for balloon flights occur in the early morning. That is why we pick up our guests about 1 ½ hours prior to sunrise.
Q: Can anyone go ballooning?
A: Most people can, however the industry regulators (Civil Aviation Authority of Fiji) excludes some people from flying in a balloon. For example, women over 3 months of pregnancy are not permitted to fly and children must be over the age of 6. Children between 6 and 16 years must be accompanied by a responsible adult. Also, passengers need a reasonable level of physical fitness get in and out of the balloon basket. Terms and conditions apply so please ask about these when you book, and do read our Balloon Information Sheet prior to flying.
Q. How long is the Adrenalin balloon ride?
A. The actual flight time is approximately 1 hour though the total time is variable due to the wind speed and direction on the day.
Q. How high does the Adrenalin hot air balloon fly?
A. At the peak of the flight, our balloon flights reach a maximum of about 3,000 ft though though most of the flight is completed much closer to ground level which is better for site seeing.
Q. Does the Adrenalin Balloon fly every day?
A. Adrenalin schedules flights daily, except Christmas Day and New Years Day. In the low season we may schedule flights on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturdays for operating efficiency.
Q: What do I wear?
A: We recommend that you wear clothes that are practical to climb into the balloon basket; covered shoes; and a cap. Dress as if you were going on a hike.
Q: How much does it cost?

Q: What is included?
A: Transfers from Denarau and Nadi locations, hot air balloon flight, and souvenir flight certificate.
Q: How many people can travel in the Adrenalin Hot Air Balloon?
A: Adrenalin takes a maximum of 12 passengers and the final numbers are determined by the total combined weight of the travellers – total passenger weight load is 1,100kg.

A: Adrenalin’s Hot Air Balloon is about safety and conforms to the rigorous standards of the Civil Aviation Authority. Our Pilots are very experienced and come highly recommended from flying operations from around the world.

Pickup time can be as early as 4:00am during 'winter' months and as late as 5:00am during summer/daylight savings months. On arrival to Fiji you should confirm your balloon flight pick up time with Adrenalin. You must be at your hotel lobby on time for pickup to avoid being left behind and in consideration of other passengers.
We supply a Ballooning Information sheet that has contact numbers for you in case you need to call the team at early hours of the morning. First the crew pick up guests on Denarau Island and the Captain meets and briefs them at the Marina. Then other Nadi guests are collected and the group drive to the Nadi Back Road. Here another test helium balloon is left off to again check the wind-speed and direction. In safe conditions, the crew continue driving to the launch site, where the Captain conducts another test then explains the set up and inflation procedure.
Passengers watch the inflation of the balloon, then on instruction, climb into the balloon basket at the optimum moment before the crew discard the ropes and the flight begins! The balloon rises in the dawn skies and the countryside is revealed to you as the sun peers over the hills and you are welcomed into the new day with a bird’s eye view. Fly over temples, forest, fields being ploughed by oxen and villages, wave back to the residents who mostly are amazed, or call out 'Bula'. After landing we are usually greeted by locals that can include cane farmers, the property owner at where we landed, and laughing children in their neat uniforms, on their way to school. We have at times even landed in school grounds, and that makes for an interesting break to their schedule! After the flight, the crew pack the balloon envelope and load the basket onto its trailor and guests are returned to their hotels, usually around 9:00am so they have the day left for the next activity....
